The Great Falling Away
As I read the article in 3/28 edition of the Winchester Star, “Churches React to Presbyterian Change on Gay Marriage,” I can go no further without responding. To sum up the article, the PCUSA has changed their constitution to reflect that now it would be sanctioned for their pastors to conduct same sex marriages. The sad part is that it is not just the Presbyterian Church(USA) that is falling into this false gospel. They simply are the latest to come out ‘of the closet’ with many even advocating the ordination of homosexuals and lesbians.
Per the article written by Star reporter Raya Zimmerman:
In June, its General Assembly voted to allow pastors to marry same-sex couples in states where gay marriage is legal.
The final approval came March 17, when the majority of the church’s 171 presbyteries — or regional bodies — voted to amend the church’s constitution to change the definition of marriage from being between “a man and a woman” to “two people, traditionally a man and a woman.”
Individual ministers may still refuse to perform gay-marriage ceremonies.
The Shenandoah Presbytery, one of the regional bodies, which includes the First Presbyterian Church and the Opequon Presbyterian Church, voted in favor of changing the constitution.
Reifsnyder said he wants to be part of a church “that’s as welcoming and inclusive as Jesus.”
“Marriage is understood to be a covenant relationship involving sacred promises made by two individuals before God,” he said.
Richard Reifsnyder, a pastor at First Presbyterian Church at 116 S. Loudoun St., said his church is in an “ongoing process of discernment.”
What is to discern here? The Bible specifically says in many different verses that homosexuality is an abomination to God. All who call themselves men of God yet stand with this abomination welcoming it in to their flock, advocating that it is okay and that those who walk in sexual immorality are born-again are false teachers. They obviously are not serving God or their responsibility to their congregations. I am not singling these two pastors out for just about all of the major denominations in the U.S. are embracing homosexual marriage, abortion at any stage, antisemitism and the lie of Replacement Theology . When pastors endorse these perversions the congregations would reason it is also okay to live in sin without consequence. When a pastor endorses or even stands silent while this occurs in their midst they walk in apostacy, they are required by the Word of God to stand against sin.
The statement is made in article “to be as welcoming and inclusive as Jesus.” Jesus calls all of us to come to Him to be saved. He also calls us to obey Him and to pursue holiness and purity. Jesus loves every one but He certainly did not condone sin and in many different verses throughout the Bible tells us to seek holiness. Jesus said to all:
17 From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
2 Thess 2:9-12
The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
1 Cor 6:9-11
9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.
Any pastor teaching that God condones same-sex marriage and who would imply that a person who lives in sexual immorality is saved is a false teacher, a liar and is not serving JESUS. It does not matter what their motive for changing God’s Word they will be judged for it . God gives no man or denomination authority to change His Word.
38 Jesus said,”For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.”
6 And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. 7 He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. 8 But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
Jesus loves every one but He hates sin. He desires that no one would be lost. Jesus died for our sins because Jesus loves us so much he went through the most horrendous sacrifice for each of us that has ever been created would be saved. His arms are outstretched to each one saying,
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
To the pastors of denominations that are part of this false teaching, you are leading your flocks down the broad path. If you know the truth yet condone these policies and lies that are coming forth you need to repent of this wickedness and be saved. If you are a pastor and do not realize that the Bible condemns these sins, you are not worthy to teach and lead. I am not judging you the Word of God is judging you.
13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
14 “And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write,
‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God: 15 “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. 16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.
Do not be escorted to hell by false teaching, read the Bible for your selves. Believe in your heart that Jesus is the Son of God, confess with your lips that He is risen from the grave for your sin, repent of ;your sin and ask Jesus to be your Lord and Savior. What better time to rise from death as we celebrate the Resurrection of the true Messiah.
