1 Thess 4:1-8
Plea for Purity
4 Finally then, brethren, we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you should abound more and more, just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God; 2 for you know what commandments we gave you through the Lord Jesus. 3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; 4 that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, 5 not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God; 6 that no one should take advantage of and defraud his brother in this matter, because the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also forewarned you and testified. 7 For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness. 8 Therefore he who rejects this does not reject man, but God, who has also given us His Holy Spirit.
We are given clear instruction in the Word of GOD that we are not wallow in sin as a true believer in JESUS. We are called to follow the Commandments and to strive for holiness. Now the so-called church of today is rife with many who preach we are all sinners that cannot help but sin, that as a believer it is okay to sin for GOD knows our heart and that HE knows that we are a work in progress finally leading to the much twisted scripture, all our sins are covered by the Blood of JESUS. So as a result, you do not need to repent of your sin, simply try to quit them if it is convenient and GOD will let you pass through on Judgement Day for HE knows your trials and struggles. Satanic lie.
This has led to churches filled with so-called Pastors who are homosexual, lesbian, adulterous, child abusers, fornicators and now transgenderous just to mention the most blatant in the throes of abomination in GOD’s eyes or should I say against HIS Word. The grievous disobedience in direct violation to how the Commandments of GOD tell us how to live abound worse and worse by the day. It is seemingly impossible to keep abreast with these hounds of hell to warn of their wickedness of which they perpetrate and perpetuate their sin upon the body.
There was a post going around on FB the other day that read, ‘It is not judging to call a sin what it is, a sin anymore than it is wrong to call a car what it is and that is a car. The body is full of Christians who have been convinced that we are crass, judgmental and a pharisee if we say anything against those who live in sin. We are labeled as having a religious spirit and even shunned by the hyper-grace group. We are told to ‘only love them.’ Do not warn them of the coming flood or in our case in the New Testament church, the coming fire. We certainly do not want to hurt anyone’s feelings, cause them to leave the church because we appear holier-than-thou or especially unloving. So please do not address it from the pulpit, in counseling or especially as Brother to another.
That whole apostasy lie is a scheme from satan to steal many souls, the Word clearly calls each of us to strive to be holy. We are to abstain from any and all forms of evil and let us not forget GOD looks upon sin as of the evil one. Oh I know we do not have to do anything or that would be salvation through works. No we do need to do some things, GOD says for us to flee from sin, to strive to be holy and to be obedient to HIM.
1 Thess 5:16-24
16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.19 Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not despise prophecies. 21 Test all things; hold fast what is good. 22 Abstain from every form of evil.23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.
HE commands us to have nothing to do with a Brother who walks in sin. 2 Thess 3:6-8
6 But we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw from every brother who walks disorderly and not according to the tradition which he received from us. 7 For you yourselves know how you ought to follow us, for we were not disorderly among you;
2 Cor 7:1-2
Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
Hence if we are not striving in the HOLY SPIRIT to walk a sinless and holy life we are disobeying the Word of GOD and HIS Commandments. When we fall short then we are to cry out in repentance and as Paul said to strive to be like JESUS.
